ACE: This actor Ernie Banks, not the baseball player, would call me for months after shooting was done and try to borrow money from me, because I think he had a gambling addiction.
JACK: Wait. Can we say that in the podcast? You’re just saying you think he had a…
ACE: He’s long since passed away.
JACK: Yeah, but his children don’t want to hear that you said he had a gambling addiction!
ACE: Well, I don’t know. He… he went through money pretty quick. And for some reason, he thought I had money. So he’d go, like, “Ace, I… I… can you send me five hundred dollars?”
JACK: Oh!
ACE: I was like, “I don’t have five hundred dollars.”
JACK: Funny you mention five hundred dollars, because…
ACE: Do I owe you money?
JACK: No.
ACE: No. Okay.

JACK: But my friend Ward, who I made the chimp promo with [see Episode 7], we went to Vegas to shoot some stuff at an Elvis impersonator convention. And one of those guys kept calling Ward afterwards and saying, “Hey, man…” In an Elvis voice. “Hey, man, I…” I can’t! I’m doing an Elvis voice now, for those of you who…
ACE: That’s okay. I’m into it.
JACK: “Hey, man, I need five hundred dollars.” He would call and ask for five hundred dollars a lot.
ACE: Did he have a reason? Like “I need a jumpsuit.”
