A Quantitative Assessment into the Best and Worst Days of 2025
This study, “A Quantitative Assessment into the Best and Worst Day of 2025,” is the continuation of a previous study conducted by the Principal Investigator (PI) on “The Best Day of 2024.” This study expands on the previous study by inquiring into the respondent’s best and worst days of 2025—the year 2025 having tested the lowest recorded limits of awful, terrible, and “stupidly evil.”
This study also aims to introduce a new quantitative unit for measuring the quality of a day. The worst days underwent additional analysis on a scale of SHIT (So Horrid. It’s Tough), which calculates the proximity of a day to poo (fecal matter) or poo-litics (policies under the current administration).
By including the new data set on respondents’ worst days, this study not only aims to find the definitive best and worst day of the year, but also, to test a popular theory known as the HomeGoods Hypothesis #1:

Methods
Respondents were asked about their best day and worst day of 2025, and instructed to include the calendar dates and a short summary of the cited day. The worst day response was made optional. The two dates were coded and counted for recurring themes.
