Delineations of Breakfast

Breakfast is my favorite meal. Why? Because its boundaries are well defined. You don’t have to worry too much about what you’re going to eat. There are only certain things that are okay to eat for breakfast. 

Eggs, for example. Eggs are a classic breakfast food. You can eat most egg dishes for breakfast, whether it be scrambled eggs, fried eggs, poached eggs, boiled eggs, or dishes made out of eggs, such as omelettes, frittatas, or certain types of quiches. Breakfast quiches should have breakfast types of ingredients, like cheese, bacon, or other breakfast meats. I wouldn’t order a quiche with more lunch types of ingredients, like broccoli, for breakfast. That’s more of a lunch dish. 

Alternatively, you can have something a little sweet for breakfast. Pancakes being the classic choice. Those pancakes can have ingredients like blueberries, apple compote, bananas, nuts, or chocolate chips. Top them with syrup, and butter if you like. You can go in a slightly different direction by ordering French toast or waffles, also topped with syrup. These are the primary syrup-topped bread-based dishes you can have for breakfast.
