Kent Osborne lives in Vermont. Jack Pendarvis lives in Mississippi. The two old friends, each sleep-deprived and noticeably loopy from traveling all day, met up at a hotel bar in Burbank, California, to discuss Kent’s role in the 1992 drama School Ties.
Episode 6: Talking Furniture
JACK: So, okay. Tell me about… I want to hear the whole sto—I want to hear it kind of chronologically. But just in case the tape runs out—it’s not tape, by the way…
KENT: “I’m 92 years old.”
JACK: [Laughter.]
KENT: I’m quoting Mike Mitchell. The Movie Lounge.
[The Movie Lounge, hosted by Kent and co-produced by Jack, is an utterly forgotten spinoff of another hosted franchise on TBS, Dinner and a Movie. Mike Mitchell served as a puppeteer on The Movie Lounge. That’s right: a puppeteer!]
JACK: “I’m 92 years old.” Nobody’s going to understand that reference. And that’s why we’re leaving it in. Because, kids, get out there. Learn! Learn!
KENT: [Laughter.] Learn! Know your Movie Lounge.
JACK: Mike Mitchell, who also directed Deuce Bigelow: Male Gigolo.
KENT: And, uh… the superhero high school movie. What was that called?
JACK: Oh, yeah. Sky High! That was a very good movie. And a great cast. Bruce Campbell, Kevin McDonald… This is…
KENT: [Cackling laughter.]
