by Jack Pendarvis

Episode 8: Another Round
JACK: I feel like this might have gone a lot better if we had had two drinks instead of one! But for some reason the bartender never came back.
KENT: Why don’t we walk over there?
JACK: Let’s do it! It’ll be part of the excitement. [Sound of a bar television getting louder, broadcasting the 2025 Emmys ceremony.] The Emmys are on. Everybody seems excited about that on the television. Remember when we used to win Emmys?
KENT: [Laughter.]
JACK: Creative Arts Emmys. But they still count. And actually, I’d always come here afterward.
KENT: Oh, yeah.
JACK: And the locals, who would be here, I’d call it a baby coffin, because…
KENT: Yeah.
JACK: They gave you a box about the size of a baby coffin to put it in.
KENT: Wait. The Studio won an Emmy?
JACK: Oh, you know, they probably won a bunch of Emmys!
KENT: That show stinks.
JACK: I’m—that’s on the record.
KENT: [Laughter.]
JACK: Is that okay?
KENT: Sure! [Laughter.]
JACK: I mean, I enjoyed it. You didn’t like it?
KENT: Not my cup of tea.
