My Local (Gallery)

Most every day I bike past Westlab, a film lab and gallery, at 131 Irving Avenue, a space formerly occupied by a real estate office, with columns of listings on display in its windows; before that, it had been a Guyanese grocery store. Now the shop’s large streetside windows open onto ample, inviting space for gallery shows, with people hanging out in the afternoon sipping on specialty coffee. The night will find owners Shrey Mendiratta and Jacqueline Buckley processing film and photographs.
